BETHANY, Okla. — Kylie Smith had a career-high 53 assists to go with 15 digs and two kills for Southern Nazarene in a 3-1 (25-23, 19-25, 25-23, 25-21) win over Southeastern Oklahoma State Saturday afternoon.

Smith recorded the fourth most assists in a four-set match in school history as the Crimson Storm (8-8, 3-1 GAC) won their second straight Great American Conference match.
Bailee Turang added another double-double with 21 kills and 11 digs to go with four blocks.
Michaela Pfaff and
Makenna Hunter each had four blocks as well while Hunter added seven kills.
Kayla Thomas also had 16 kills and three blocks. Meagn Ellis added three aces and had seven blocks to go with 12 digs.
Elyse Berlin had 15 digs while
Hannah Davis had 12 and added a block.

The Storm hit .181 (58-26-177) and had 69 digs. SNU also had eight blocks.

Southern Nazarene never trailed in the first set, but never had a lead bigger than six. SNU led 17-11 when the Savage Storm (5-12, 1-4 GAC) scored five straight to cut it to 17-16. The Storm led 19-18 when they got two straight to lead 21-18. Southeastern answered again though with three straight to knot it at 21. After two more ties, SNU broke the 23-23 tie with back-to-back kills by Thomas and Turang to take the set.

In the second set, Southeastern used a 7-1 run early to take control and never let go of the lead from there to tie the match at 1-1. SNU trailed 19-13 in the third set, but a Turang kill sparked a set-ending 12-4 run, that also got a bookend kills by Turang, to take a 2-1 lead in the match.

The Savage Storm also jumped out to an early lead in the fourth at 11-5, but Turang sparked another run with a kill. This time it was a 14-4 run as SNU pushed its lead to 19-15. Southeastern scored three straight to close the gap to 19-18, but that was as close as they came as SNU closed it out.
