Crimson Storm take down OC 3-2 in OT

BETHANY, Okla. — In a thrilling non-conference home opener, Southern Nazarene was able to edge Oklahoma Christian 3-2, courtesy of a game-winning goal.

The goal came from Kylee Payne four minutes into the first overtime in a rollercoaster-type match. The Crimson Storm (1-1-0) struck first in the 11th minute, as Rebekah Abrego scored on a beautiful cross from Kelsi Bussert.

After taking a 1-0 lead into halftime, the Eagles (1-1-0) came out looking like a completely different team in the second half. After just three shots in the first half, Oklahoma Christian came out firing, totaling 12 shots in the second half. They tied the game at one in the 58th minute, as Dakota Milner scored her first goal of the year.

Southern Nazarene responded in the 72nd minute, as Brianna Evans scored on an assist from Meagan Chase, giving the Storm a 2-1 lead. Just six minutes later, Oklahoma Christian responded with a punch of their own, as Brianna Concienne scored to tie the game 2-2.
