BETHANY, Okla. — In a thrilling non-conference home opener, Southern Nazarene was able to edge Oklahoma Christian 3-2, courtesy of a game-winning goal.

The goal came from
Kylee Payne four minutes into the first overtime in a rollercoaster-type match. The Crimson Storm (1-1-0) struck first in the 11
th minute, as
Rebekah Abrego scored on a beautiful cross from
Kelsi Bussert.

After taking a 1-0 lead into halftime, the Eagles (1-1-0) came out looking like a completely different team in the second half. After just three shots in the first half, Oklahoma Christian came out firing, totaling 12 shots in the second half. They tied the game at one in the 58
th minute, as Dakota Milner scored her first goal of the year.

Southern Nazarene responded in the 72
nd minute, as
Brianna Evans scored on an assist from
Meagan Chase, giving the Storm a 2-1 lead. Just six minutes later, Oklahoma Christian responded with a punch of their own, as Brianna Concienne scored to tie the game 2-2.

Payne's game-winning goal in overtime gave the Crimson Storm its first win on the year.
Ashlynn Pritchett also recorded eight saves for SNU.
