Box Score TAOS, N.M. — For the second straight game, Southern Nazarene found the back of the net three times to pick up a victory. This time it was against New Mexico Highlands, as SNU has now won back-to-back games.
The Crimson Storm (2-1-0) wasted no time at all in Taos, as
Brianna Evans scored in the first two minutes of the game on an assist from
Shanae Vasquez, giving SNU the early lead. Evans has now scored in back-to-back games.
Jaycie Routon scored her first goal of the year in the 39
th minute on a cross from
Alexus Coxsey, to give Southern Nazarene a 2-0 lead heading into the half.
SNU extended their lead further in the 66
th minute, as Vasquez scored on a header from a corner kick set up by
Meagan Chase. The Cowgirls (0-1-0) added a late goal from Breanna Fatten, as the Crimson Storm eventually took the game 3-1. The Storm tallied 19 shots for the game, and
Ashlynn Pritchett recorded eight saves.
