BETHANY, Okla. — Southern Nazarene dropped both its final two games in the GAC/MIAA Crossover as it lost its first five-set match of the season 3-2 (16-25, 22-25, 25-17, 25-21, 17-15) to Southwest Baptist before falling 3-1 (24-26, 26-24, 25-23, 25-19) to Fort Hays State in the final match.
Despite a career-high 25 kills and 11 digs from
Bailee Turang, SNU couldn't hold off SBU in the final three sets. SNU hit .424 in the first set and .312 in the second, but hit no higher than .108 in the final three sets.
Meagan Ellis and
Kylie Smith each had 11 kills. Ellis added 13 digs while Smith had 44 assists and 16 digs.
Elyse Berlin had 22 digs while
Hannah Davis had 16.
Makenna Hunter also added five blocks.

The Storm hit .190 (65-30-184) and had six blocks and 85 digs. It was also the first five-set match of the season for SNU.

Against Fort Hays, Thomas had 16 kills and two blocks while Turang had 15 kills, 13 digs and two blocks. Meagn Ellis had 10 kills and a pair of aces as well.
Kylie Smith dished out 49 assists and added four blocks and 11 digs.
Hannah Davis had a career-hgih 33 digs while Elyse Berin had 18.

SNU as a team had five blocks and 92 digs, but hit just .148 and had 29 attacking errors.
