BETHANY, Okla. — In its final non-conference match of the season, Southern Nazarene fell 3-2 to Eastern New Mexico Saturday afternoon.
The shots were flying in this one, as the Greyhounds (1-3-2) totaled 17 for the game, while the Crimson Storm (2-4) totaled 14.
Meagan Chase got things started for SNU, as she scored on an assist from
Jaycie Routon just 38 seconds into the game. The Greyhounds responded six minutes later with a goal of their own to tie the game 1-1, as Ariel Lopez scored from 20 yards out. ENMU tacked on another goal in the first half from Naomi Abeyta to give the Greyhounds a 2-1 lead heading into halftime.
Brianna Evans scored her third goal of the season on a penalty kick in the 65
th minute, to bring the score back to 2-2. But the Greyhounds got the last punch as Shelby Bell scored her first goal of the season in the 85
th minute to give ENMU the 3-2 victory.
Ashlynn Pritchett had five saves for the Crimson Storm, and
Rebekah Abrego had a shot on goal for the Crimson Storm.
