DURANT, Okla. — Southern Nazarene opened its season in a big with a pair of 3-0 sweeps over Cameron and Texas A&M International in the South Central Classic.

The Crimson Storm won 25-18, 25-18, 25-23, in the first match before take the second one 25-19, 25-14, 25-14.

In the opener,
Bailee Turang ripped 14 kills and hit .565 while freshman
Kayla Thomas hit .556 and had 11 kills. Turang also had three aces while Thomas had two. The Crimson Storm had 13 aces as a team.
Kylie Smith dished out a career-high 34 assists and two blocks.
Elyse Berlin had 16 digs and a career-high five aces. SNU as a team hit .359 (39-11-78) and held Cameron to just a .250 clip.

Turang had more of the same in the second match with 16 kills while she hit a career-high .625. The Storm as a team hit .373 (40-12-75) in the second match and had just one error in the final set as they hit .882 (16-1-17).

Smith added to her previous career-highs with six aces and seven kills against the Dustdevils. She added 23 assists and four digs as well.
Kayla Thomas also had seven kills. Megan Ellis served the fourth most aces in a single match in school history and it was the most in school history since the 2007 season. SNU as a team had 16 aces, the most since the 2010 season.

Elyse Berlin added 13 digs and five assists as SNU had 31 digs as a team.
