Eagles Down Storm to Open Season

OC defeats SNU 3-0 in the season opener

BETHANY, Okla. — In a very physical match with a cross-town rival, Southern Nazarene was downed by Oklahoma Christian 3-0 in the 2017 season opener.

The Crimson Storm had three yellow cards and the Eagles had one, as the match was physical from first kick. The Eagles struck first right before halftime, as Chandler Parish got the first goal for OC. SNU battled in the second half, totaling nine shots to put pressure on the Eagles, but ultimately couldn't find the net. Oklahoma Christian's Cody McLemore and Jaiden van der Heidjen added a couple of late goals to put the game out of reach.

Alan Armstrong had three shots on goal for the Crimson Storm, and Jeff Ray recorded a career-high 11 saves in the game.

Southern Nazarene is back in action Saturday, when they host Eastern New Mexico at 3 p.m. at Wes Harmon Field.
