BETHANY, Okla. — Southern Nazarene highlighted its senior day with a pair of wins over Henderson State Friday afternoon. The Crimson Storm came out on top 2-0 in a pitching duel in the opener. Then SNU wrapped up the doubleheader with
Kyndall Freer-Christopher walk-off RBI single to down the Reddies 6-5 in the tenth inning.

In the opener, both offenses struggled as Henderson State's Michelle Sorensen and Southern Nazarene's (22-32, 18-25 GAC)
Katelyn Brown battled out a pitching duel. Both pitchers recorded scoreless inning after scoreless inning. Through four complete innings, Brown held HSU to two hits, while Sorensen held SNU hitless.

After Brown pitched a scoreless fifth, Sorensen pitched another hitless inning in the fifth. However, her control faltered, allowing the Crimson Storm were able to get on the scoreboard. Southern Nazarene used two walks and
Logan Sundbye being hit by a pitch to load the bases up. SNU took a 1-0 lead after Sorensen walked

Southern Nazarene added to its lead in the sixth, as SNU strung three two-out singles together to score a run.
Riley Brown singled to left, Freer-Christopher singled through the left side, then
Hope Martin singled up the middle to score Brown.

The two-run lead proved to be enough for the Storm to find the win column.
Katelyn Brown (17-15) got the win after pitching a complete game shutout, her fourth of the season. Brown also struck out nine batters, which marks the sixth time this season that Brown has recorded nine or more strikeouts. Martin went 1-for-3 with an RBI and
Riley Brown went 1-for-2 with a run scored and a walk. Â

In the nightcap, Henderson State jumped out to an early 5-0 lead as they were able to strike for four runs in the first and added one more run in the second.

Southern Nazarene answered with a run in the second to make it a 5-1 game, as a Freer-Christopher single to left center scored Martin.

Neither team could score in the third or fourth, HSU held its 5-1 headed into the fifth.

After
Brooke Tate held the Reddies scoreless in the fifth, the Storm put together a two-out rally to tie the game up at 5-5. A
Riley Brown single up the middle scored
Katelyn Brown, then a
Hannah LeBeau double to down the left field line scored Brown. With two-outs and a runner on second, Martin tied the game up with one swing of the bat as she hit her first home run of the season over the left field wall.

The score remained tied at 5-5 for the next four frames. The Reddies were able to get the lead off runner on to lead off the tenth, but that runner would never come around to score, as the Crimson Storm defense held HSU scoreless.

Headed to the bottom of the tenth with the scored tied at 5-5, Martin delivered the second biggest hit of the game. Martin lined a ball deep into the gap between right and center and found herself safe at third with a one out triple. Freer-Christopher then delivered the biggest hit of the game as she singled to right to bring home the game-winning run.

Katelyn Brown got the win after pitching 3.2 innings scoreless innings. Tate got the start and pitched 6.2 innings.
Katelyn Brown went 3-for-5 with a run scored. Freer-Christopher went 2-for-5 with two RBIs and Martin went 3-for-5 with three runs scored, two RBIs and a home run.
