SNU takes care of Southwestern Oklahoma State

BETHANY, Okla. — From the opening tip Southern Nazarene was out running and wasted little time in getting an 85-59 route on Southwestern Oklahoma State Thursday night.

Three players scored in double figures for the Crimson Storm (11-9, 9-6 GAC) as Jhonathan Dunn led the way with 18 points and six rebounds. The freshman went 6-for-10 from the field and 4-for-6 from 3-point range. C.J. White was perfect on the night going 7-for-7 from the field and 1-for-1 at the line to score 15 points. He also had six rebounds. LB Willis added 13 points, six assists, four steals and four rebounds. He was 5-for-10 from the field. Micah Speight and Quaylon Newton each had eight points as well. Newton recorded a career-high 11 rebounds.
 
SNU shot 48.5 percent from the field and went 10-for-27 from 3-point range. It also shot 11-for-15 at the free-throw line. The Storm held SWOSU to just 36.8 percent shooting from the field and 7-for-24 from beyond the arc. Southern Nazarene outrebounded the Bulldogs 45-28 and scored 22 points off of 15 turnovers. SNU turned the ball over just 12 times.
 
The Bulldogs score the first two points of the game and were up 5-4 when Noah Starkey started a 10-0 run and the flood gates opened form there. The Storm were up 18-13 before a 28-7 run by the Storm gave SNU a 46-20 lead late in the first, and SNU took a 48-22 lead into the break.
 
Southern Nazarene pushed it 53-22 early in the second half, its biggest lead of the game, and hit cruise control from there to win its third straight at home and moved to 9-2 inside the Sawyer Center.
