Storm Come Up Short in Searcy

Southern Nazarene falls 82-70 to Harding

SEARCY, Ark. — Southern Nazarene made a run, outscoring Harding 47-36 in the second half, but it wasn't enough as the Storm fell 82-70 to the Bison Saturday afternoon.
 
Adrienne Berry led the Crimson Storm (9-9, 6-8 GAC) in scoring with a new career high 27 points on 10-of-18 shooting. Berry also grabbed seven rebounds and recorded one steal. Abby Boyd was the next leading scorer with 16 points. Boyd also added six assists and three rebounds. Sidney Carolina was the only other player to score in double figures; she added ten points and five rebounds.
 
Harding doubled the Storm up in the first half, as they led 46-23 going into intermission. Southern Nazarene shot 27.3 percent on 9-of-33 shooting while the Bison shot 40.5 percent on 17-of-42 shooting.
 
The Storm couldn't make up much ground in the third quarter as the closest they got was within 17 points after Danielle Gaddis hit a pair of free throws with 3:32 remaining in the period.
 
Southern Nazarene heated up in the fourth quarter and made a run at the Bison's lead. The Storm started the fourth quarter on a 15-2 run capped by a Berry 3-pointer to bring SNU within seven points with the score at 66-59 with 7:20 remaining in the game.
 
The Bison answered Southern Nazarene's run with one of their own as they went on a 10-0 run to push their lead back up to 17 points with 3:22 remaining in regulation. SNU was able to pull with in 11 points after Berry hit another 3-pointer, but that's as close as they would get as the Bison were able to weather the Storm and get a 82-70 victory.
 
Southern Nazarene finished the day shooting 46.4 percent while Harding shot 42.3 percent. The Bison out rebounded the Storm 49-33 and out scored SNU in the paint 32-28.
