BETHANY, Okla. — Southern Nazarene took one step closer to clinching its fourth straight berth to the Great American Conference Championships with a 3-1 (25-17, 24-26, 27-25, 25-00) win over East Central.

The Crimson Storm (12-15, 7-6 GAC) snapped a five-match skid and swept the season series with the Tigers (7-21, 2-11). With a win, or a Henderson State loss Thursday, SNU would clinch a spot in the GAC Championships.

Bailee Turang had a match-high 16 kills and 18 digs for her 12
th double-double of the year with 17 kills and 19 digs while
Kylie Smith notched her team-high 15
th double-double of the season with 41 assists and 14 digs. She also added three of SNU's six aces.
Meagan Ellis also had 10 kills and 15 digs for her sixth double-double.
Makenna Hunter added nine kills and three blocks.
Elyse Berlin added 22 digs while
Hannah Davis had 14.

SNU had nine blocks as a team and had 95 digs. ECU had 103 digs and five blocks, but the Storm held the Tigers to just a .061 hitting percentage.

There were four ties early in the first set before East Central broke an 11-11 tie with three straight to lead 14-11.
McKayla Benner then sparked a 14-3 set-ending run with a kill as SNU took a 1-0 lead in the match. Turang had five of her kills in the first set as the Storm hit .216.

The Tigers turned the tables in the second set as they rallied from being down 15-10. ECU used a 16-9 run to knot the match at 1-1. East Central closed it to 20-19 in the set before the Storm took a 23-19 lead. The Tigers scored four straight to knot it at 23. ECU then broke a 24-24 tie with a kill and got an SNU error to win the set.

East Central led for most of the third set and were up 18-13 late in the set when Ellis started an 11-6 run to tie it at 24-24. After a 25-25 tie SNU got a kill from Benner and an ECU error to take the 2-1 lead in the match. SNU faced two set points in the match as it trailed 24-22, but an Ellis kill and a Tigers' error tied the set at 24.

SNU used an early 7-0 run in the fourth set to lead 9-4. The Storm led 12-9 before going on a 7-0 run to lead 19-9 and held on for the win from there.
