BETHANY, Okla. — Makenna Hunter had a career-high six blocks for Southern Nazarene in a 3-1 (25-19, 20-25, 25-18, 25-14) loss to No. 16 Arkansas Tech Friday.

The Crimson Storm (11-12, 6-4 GAC) are just the second team this year to take a set off the Golden Suns (26-0, 11-0 GAC). SNU hit .185 (45-21-130) and had 41 digs to go with seven blocks. Tech hit .306 and had 49 digs and seven blocks. Each team also had three aces.

Bailee Turang was the only player with double figure kills as she nearly had a double-double with 17 kills and nine digs.
Meagan Ellis had eight kills while
Kylie Smith had seven. Smith also had 34 assists and eight digs while Ellis had eight digs as well.
Elyse Berlin also had nine digs.
McKayla Benner also had three blocks and five kills.

In the opening set, Arkansas Tech jumped out to a 10-3, but the Storm answered with an 8-2 run to cut it to 12-11. The Golden Suns though broke open the set with an 8-3 run to lead 20-14 and held the Storm off from there.

There were six ties in the second set before SNU broke a 12-12 with a 6-2 run to lead 18-14. Tech closed it to 22-20 before SNU got a pair of kills and an ATU error to tie the match at 1-1. The Suns trailed 6-3 in the third before going on an 11-2 run to lead 14-8 and held that lead from there to take a 2-1 lead in the match. It was all ATU in the fourth set as it hit .419 and held the Storm to a .071 clip.
