Bisons Down Storm

Southern Nazarene falls 4-2 to Harding

BETHANY, Okla. — Southern Nazarene got goals from Mitchell Johnson and Alan Armstrong, but that was not enough to hold off the Bison in 4-2 loss to Harding Saturday.

The Crimson Storm (1-7-0, 1-1-0 GAC) attempted 16 shots on the day, though 11 of the shots came in the second half and they landed ten shots on goal throughout the entire game. Harding, on the other hand, took 20 shots and landed 14 on goal.

The Bisons wasted no time getting their offense running as they scored in the first minute when Matheus Ribeiro found the back of the net from 18 yards out. The Bisons added goals in the ninth and 32nd minutes to take a 3-0 lead.

Johnson made it a 3-1 game when he fired a rocket to the back of the net from 25 yards out off of a free kick. The goal was Johnson's second on the season and now makes it back-to-back games that Johnson has scored a goal.

Harding scored in the 65th minute off of a Jeremy Nwonumah goal that came off of a Jeremy Rector pass, giving the Bisons a 4-1 lead with 25 minutes to play.

The Storm got another goal from Armstrong, his third goal in two games, to put the score at 4-2.

Colton Hadlock made the start for Southern Nazarene in goal as he notched five saves. Michael Wasson recorded eight saves in the victory for Harding.
