Crimson Storm Drop GAC Opener

SNU falls 2-0 to Ouachita

BETHANY, Okla.— Southern Nazarene got 34 shots off but fell 2-0 to Ouachita in Great American Conference opener Thursday.

Ouachita (1-4-1) jumped on the scoreboard early in the fifth minute of the game on long 23-yard shot from Dina Harper into the top left corner of the goal. The goal was not only Harper's first goal of the season, but also the Tiger's first goal of the season.

From the fifth minute on, the Storm (1-6-0) was able to attack the Tigers, but were unable to find the back of the net. The Storm outshot Ouachita 17-4 in the first half, six of the shots on goal.

The second half was very similar to the first half in that SNU was able to get a few good looks on goal, but was unable to capitalize and score a goal. SNU got another 17 shots, seven on goal, while holding Ouachita to six shots with just three on goal.

The Storm had five different players take four or more shots, however none of them found the back of the net. Kessi Bussert led the team in shots attempted with six.

The Tigers score a second goal in the 84th minute off of an Alyssa Hardin goal to give the Tigers the 2-0 win over the Storm.

Natasha Fuentes notched five saves for the Storm while the Tiger's Erin Webster recorded ten saves.
