WICHITA FALLS, Texas — Southern Nazarene put four of its 14 shots in the game on goal, but it was unable to find the back of the net in a 2-0 loss to Midwestern State Thursday.
The Storm (1-4-0) and the Mustangs (3-1-2) played eye for eye for 86 minutes, as both teams tried to find a way to separate themselves from the other. MSU though broke through late with two devastaing goals.
The Mustangs first goal came in the 87
thminute, after a Storm foul, setting MSU up with a penalty shot. Hanna Mattinson took the penalty, scoring her third goal of the season. Midwestern State proceeded to put the icing on the cake as it scored another goal in the 89
th minute to put the game away. The goal came off of a Taylor Robinson pass and was kicked in for a goal from six yards out by Destinee Williamson for her first goal of the season.
