CLAREMORE, Okla. — Southern Nazarene opened the 2016 season with a 1-0 loss at Rogers State.

SNU (0-1-0) struggled offensively as they were only able to take six shots, just two of those being on target.
Matthew Lawrence and
Gabriel Conteh both landed one shot on goal. RSU managed to take 18 shots, landing 11 of those shots on goal.

The Storm had a golden opportunity to score in the first half in the 33
rd minute.
Gabriel Conteh crossed the ball just outside of the box to a wide open
Pedro Garcia who took a shot that sailed high over the crossbar.

The Hillcats scored their lone goal in the 70
th minute off of a Niall Smith corner kick which was headed in for a goal by Chris Sowder.

Colton Hadlock (0-1-0) played 90 minutes in goal, as he recorded ten saves throughout the game and allowed one goal. Cody Gammill (1-0-0) made the start for the Hillcats and recorded two saves on the night.
