BETHANY, Okla. — The injury bug bit Southern Nazarene a tad Tuesday night as Southern Nazarene fell 3-0 (28-26, 25-23, 25-23) to Midwestern State in non-conference action.

The Crimson Storm (8-6) were without the services of
Courtney Bowie and
Hannah Davis and looked out of sync at times as their streak of three straight sweeps was snapped.

Freshman
Bailee Turang had 14 kills and added 13 digs for her fourth double-double of the year.
Lexie Matthews also had nine kills and six digs on the night.
Elyse Berlin had 26 assists and 12 digs while
Abbey Bell had 12 digs.
McKayla Benner had four blocks on the night as well.

SNU was held to a .153 clip as it had 12 errors on the night and nine service errors. The Storm though did have seven blocks and out dug MSU 59-52.

Midwestern State hit .333 in the first set and got out to 7-1 lead to start, but the Storm went on a 9-1 run capped by a
Lexie Matthews kills to lead 10-8. The Mustangs answered with a 9-4 run to lead 17-14, but SNU scored three straight to knot it at 17. After eight more ties, part of 11 in the first set, MSU got back-to-back kills to take the first set at 28-26.

In the second set, SNU jumped out to a 6-3 lead before Midwestern State tied it at six. Neither team led by more than two until MSU went on a 3-0 run to break a 16-16 tie. MSU pushed it to 23-18 and were up 24-20 before a string of three straight points put the Storm within one at 24-23. The Mustangs though closed out the set with the final point to take a 2-0 lead in the match.

The final set mirrored the second as neither team lead by more than two and SNU had the lead five different times, but couldn't put MSU away. The Storm's last lead came at 20-19, but the Mustangs went on a 3-1 run to lead 22-21. SNU tied it at 22, but MSU scored two straight to get match point at 24-22. A service error made it 24-23, but Midwestern closed it out to get the sweep.
