SNU gets first GAC win of season

BETHANY, Okla. — Hannah Robinson scores twice in Southern Nazarene's first conference victory of the season in 4-1 win over East Central Saturday night.
 
The Crimson Storm (2-7-0, 1-3-0 GAC) jumped on the scoreboard first as they got a goal from Kelsi Bussert, her first goal of the season. The goal came in the 17th minute when Heather Digiantomasso crossed the ball from the right side of the field to a wide open Kelsi Bussert who fired a shot from three yards out that found the back of the net.
 
The Storm took a 1-0 lead into halftime. SNU got 13 shots in the first half with three on goal. The Tigers (2-7-0, 1-2-0 GAC) were held to four shots in the first half with three on goal.
 
SNU continued to attack ECU in the second half as Hannah Robinson managed to score in the 62nd minute. Taylor Jester took a free kick from 20 yards out; the ball was deflected to Shanae Vasquez. Vasquez got the rebound and took a shot that was deflected by the goalie to Robinson who kicked the ball in for a goal from three yards out.
 
Robinson tacked on her second goal of the game, her third on the season, in the 71st minute off of an Alexus Coxsey assist.
 
The Tigers got on the board in the 80th minute when Lizzette Carreon scored on a penalty kick, her first goal of the season.
 
The Storm put the game away when Meagan Chase scored her fourth goal of the season in the 82nd minute off of an Alexus Coxsey assist, her second assist of the game.
 
Natasha Fuentes recorded five saves for the Storm on the night.
