BETHANY, Okla. — For three quarters, Southern Nazarene played with Southern Arkansas. During two quarters, the Crimson Storm outscored the Muleriders. However, a 32-point second quarter for Southern Arkansas proved to be the difference-maker in Southern Nazarene's 90-78 loss.

The Crimson Storm (2-7, 1-5 GAC) got off to a mixed start, as they started the game leading 6-2 before the Muleriders went on an 11-0 run. SNU answered though, as it put together a 10-0 run of its own thanks to five points from
Adrienne Berry. SAU hit a three to end the first quarter, which tied the game 16-16. In the opening period, Berry and
Kandyce Freeman led the Crimson Storm with six points each. On the defensive end, Southern Nazarene held the Muleriders to 31.6 percent shooting.

Things began going downhill in the second quarter for the Crimson Storm, as the Muleriders scored 12 points in the first two minutes of the frame. By the end of the quarter, Southern Arkansas held a 48-27 lead. SAU lit up the net in the frame, as it shot 12-of-16 from the field and 4-of-5 from 3-point range.

Southern Nazarene didn't fold, though, as it fought its way back during the third quarter. The Crimson Storm went on a 10-0 run over the last four minutes of the quarter, making it a 65-49 game heading into the final period. The fourth quarter was largely a back-and-forth affair, with neither team gaining a significant advantage. SNU got within 11 points, but did not draw any closer before the final buzzer.

Turnovers plagued Southern Nazarene throughout the game, as it ended the game with 22 giveaways that led to 23 Southern Arkansas points.
Kandyce Freeman set career-highs with 20 points and 10 rebounds, also recording her first career double-double.
Danielle Gaddis added 12 points and nine rebounds while
Adrienne Berry chipped in nine points and three rebounds off the bench.Â
