SHAWNEE, Okla. — For the first time this season, and the first time since Jan. 29-Feb. 7 last season, Southern Nazarene is on a three-game winning streak after it defeated Oklahoma Baptist 94-87 Monday night.

In the first game inside the Noble Complex, since the two played as members of the Sooner Athletic Conference, the Crimson Storm (7-8, 6-3 GAC) knocked off the Bison (5-8, 1-8 GAC) for the first time in Shawnee since Jan. 22, 2007.

For the second straight game, SNU had at least five players in double figures as
LB Willis led the way with 17 points. The junior went 4-for-4 from 3-point range as the Storm went 14-for-26 from downtown. The Storm hit 56.1 percent from the field and out rebounded the Bison 36-27.

Deshon Portley and
C.J. White each added 16 points while
CJ Rodriguez added 15 points.
Francisco Hukill also added 15 points off of the bench as the Storm reserves scored 29 points while the OBU bench had seven.

Oklahoma Baptist had an early lead and were up 14-11 with 13:51 left in the first, but a 14-3 run capped by a White bucket in the paint gave the Storm a 25-17 lead. Southern Nazarene trailed just one more time the rest of the night, but didn't put it away until late.

OBU closed the gap to tie the game at 39-39 with 3:05 left in the first before SNU closed the half on a 13-6 run to lead 52-45 at the half. The Storm didn't get a double digit lead until the 7:21 mark in the second half after the Bison took their last lead, and only one of the second half, at the 17:26 mark at 55-54. OBU closed it to 63-62 with 13:13 remaining, but Southern Nazarene scored seven straight and gained enough cushion down the stretch to pick up the win.Â
