Six Shooters

Southern Nazarene had six players score in double figures in a win over Arkansas-Monticello

BETHANY, Okla. — Six players scored in double figures for Southern Nazarene in a 94-84 win over Arkansas-Monticello.
 
It's the most points the Crimson Storm (11-9, 7-7 GAC) have scored since they cracked the century mark since Nov. 20, 2013, when they scored 100 on Oklahoma Christian. It's also the first three-game winning streak since the start of the season for SNU.
 
Francisco Hukill led the way for the Storm as he scored a game-high 17 points and added four rebounds and three assists. CJ Rodriguez added 15 points, seven rebounds and three assists while LB Willis had 13 points and four rebounds. Corey McCrary scored 13 of SNU's 36 points off of the bench as he went a perfect 4-for-4 from the field, including two 3-pointers. He also had three rebounds and three assists. Anton Kankaanpaa chipped in with 11 points and four rebounds while Dartanyon Meggs added the same numbers off of the bench.
 
Despite giving up 18 points off of 16 turnovers, SNU got the win by shooting 52.8 percent from the field. The Storm hit 28-for-53 from the floor and went 10-for-21 from 3-point range. The Storm went to the line 37 times and hit 28 attempts. SNU also out rebounded UAM 38-30.
 
Neither team led by more than four in the first half until SNU jumped out to a 32-26 lead with 3:59 left. SNU pushed it to 37-30 with 1:46 to play and held a 40-35 lead at the half. The Boll Weevils tied it three times in the second half, but could never overcome SNU. The Storm though didn't hold a lead bigger than nine through most of the second half, and held that lead at 73-64 with 8:04 left to play. UAM cut the deficit to two twice with the final time coming at 78-76 with 4:04 left, but the Storm went on an 11-2 run to take their biggest lead at 89-78 with 55 seconds left.
