WICHITA FALLS, Texas  — Elyse Berlin was just one kill shy of her first career triple-double as the sophomore had 38 assists, 21 digs and a career-high nine kills for Southern Nazarene in a 3-2 (14-25, 25-17, 25-16, 23-25, 15-12) loss at Midwestern State.
 
Berlin also added two blocks and an ace while hitting .296 for the Crimson Storm (7-11) who fell to 1-3 in 5-set matches this year.
 
Kaitlyn Vought and McKenna Qualls each had 10 kills on the night as SNU hit .140 (51-24-193). Vought also had 17 of SNU's season-high 105 digs. She also added three blocks. Qualls had eight digs and two blocks. Courtney Bowie also had 11 kills and four of the Storm's nine blocks. Abbey Bell had 28 digs and a career-high seven assists while Hannah Davis had 14 digs. McKayla Benner also had four blocks and six digs.
 
SNU had less attack errors, more digs and more blocks, but the Mustangs (5-14) had eight aces on the night and out hit the Storm.
 
Southern Nazarene hit .225 in the opening set, but was held under .200 in the second and third sets. SNU was just under .200 in the fourth set, but hit just .048 in the final set.
