Tigers Take Down Storm

Ouachita Baptist gives SNU its first road loss of the year

Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Matthew Gregg had a career-high 16 tackles and an interception for Southern Nazarene in a 28-7 loss at Ouachita Baptist.
 
The Crimson Storm (0-2, 0-2 GAC) had 238 yards of total offense with 156 yards passing and 92 yards rushing. James Mauro threw for 152 yards and a touchdown on 12-of-30 passing. Lorenzo Alexander ran for 74 yards on nine carries while Brian Yenor had 59 yards on 13 carries. James Reed had two catches for 46 yards while Austin Williams and Pierson Waugh each had 44 yards. Williams had four catches and a touchdown while Waugh had three catches.
 
Landon Boaz also had 12 tackles while Michael Hicks had nine and a pass breakup. Larry Butler III and Sherrod Daniels both had a forced fumble as well.
 
The Tigers (1-0, 1-0 GAC) scored on their first two drives of the game to take a 14-0 lead through the first quarter and tacked on another with 6:37 left in the half to take a 21-0 lead at the half. OBU then scored on its first drive in the third to take a 28-0 lead before the Storm scored on their final drive in the fourth.
 
Mauro hit Williams for a 10-yard pass to complete a 9-play, 80-yard drive to cut it to 28-7.
 
The Storm now get set to travel to Arkansas Tech, Saturday, for a 6 p.m. GAC contest.
