Box Score 2 BETHANY, Okla. — Kayla Wyatt struck out a career-high 13 (13-11) in a 5-4 extra-inning loss as she gave up five runs on 10 hits to Arkansas Tech. Southern Nazarene lost the second game 9-0.
The Crimson Storm move to 19-32 overall and 12-23 in the Great American Conference.
Arkansas Tech took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second with a solo home run to left before adding two more in the top of the fifth to lead 3-0. The Crimson Storm though answered back in the bottom half of the inning with four runs all on two outs. Fluman ripped a three-run triple down the right the right field line to tie the game before Linder singled up the middle to score Fluman and put SNU up 4-3.
The Golden Suns tied it in the top of the sixth with a two-out solo home run. ATU broke the 4-4 tie in the top of the eighth when Ashley Savage hit a two-out solo home run to left to lead 5-4. That was all the Suns' Sydnee Clark needed as she gave up just four runs on seven hits in eight innings of work.
Kylee Webb and a
Courtney Wiley went a combined 4-for-7 as Webb went 2-for-3 and Wiley went 2-for-4. Wiley scored one run.
The Golden Suns scored four runs in the top of the first of the nightcap and then added three in the second to lead 7-0. ATU scored to more in the fourth to lead 9-0. The Storm tried to mount a comeback in the bottom of the fifth scoring one, but that was it for the Storm
Arkansas Tech's Victoria Huie gave up just one run on five hits on the day in five innings of work.
SNU and Tech will finish out the regular season, Saturday, with a noon doubleheader.
