Box Score 2 ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Southern Nazarene picked up a Sunday split with a 3-1 win in the opener before falling 11-2 in the nightcap.
The Crimson Storm (12-23, 6-16 GAC) stopped a five-game losing streak as
Kayla Wyatt (7-9) gave up just one run on six hits and struck out five in a complete game win.
Kacey Acker has SNU's only two hits as she had a double in the top of the second inning before scoring the first run of the game on a
Kylee Webb sacrifice fly to right. She then hit a two run home run that drove in the final two runs in the top of the third to put SNU up 3-0.
The Lady Reddies scored one in the bottom of the sixth, but that was it for Henderson State as Wyatt shut the door.
HSU though answered with 11 hits and 11 runs in the second game. The Lady Reddies scored eight in the first and one in the second to lead 9-0 before SNU scored one in the top of the fourth on a
Kyndall Freer-Christopher single to left to cut it to 9-1. HSU scored two in the bottom of the inning to make it 11-1 before
Whitney Linder singled home
Megan Blevens to make it 11-2. That was as close as SNU came though as Henderson closed it out in five innings.
Linder led the way going 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
Andee Frazier took the loss giving up eight runs, six earned on six hits.
The Crimson Storm now get set to host Ouachita Baptist, Friday and Saturday, for a four-game GAC set.
