Eagles Fly Past Storm

OC sweeps SNU

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — Southern Nazarene dropped both games of a doubleheader to Oklahoma Christian, Tuesday night, falling 9-8 in eight innings in the first before losing 12-1 in the second game.
SNU raced out to an 8-1 lead in the opener. SNU scored two in the first on a double to center by Whitney Linder before scoring four more in the top of the second to lead 6-0. SNU scored two on a Hannah LeBeau single to center before Kacey Acker singled to right to for another run as Lindy Fluman scored on the throw. After OC got on the board in the bottom of the second, SNU pushed two more across the plate in the third with a two-run shot to left by Megan Blevens as SNU held an 8-1 lead through the top of the third.
The Storm though let it slip away as the Eagles scored four in the bottom of the third and three in the fourth to tie it at 8-8. OC then got the winning run when it scored in the eighth on a sacrifice fly to center.
SNU had nine hits from eight players as Linder led the way going 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Kayla Wyatt (6-8) took the loss after giving up six runs, five earned, on seven hits in 7.2 innings of work.
In the nightcap, OC scored seven runs in the first inning and then added three in the second and two in the third to lead 12-0. SNU scored its only run in the top of the fourth on a sacrifice fly to right by Kyndall Freer-Christopher.
Andee Frazier (4-8) took the loss, giving up 10 runs, eight earned, in two innings of work. All five of SNU's hits came from different players.  
The Crimson Storm fall to 11-20 on the year. 
Southern Nazarene now travels to Henderson State for a four-game Great American Conference series Friday and Saturday.
