Storm Rally to Force Split

Southern Nazarene picked up a doubleheader split with Harding

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SEARCY, Ark. — Megan Blevens went 3-for-5 on the day for Southern Nazarene as it was held to just five hits in a 4-2 loss to Harding, but bounced back to score an 8-4 win the second game of a doubleheader.
 
Blevens led the way for the Storm in the opener going 2-for-3 with an RBI. Kayla Wyatt (3-3) gave up four runs on seven hits and struck out four in six innings of work.
 
Harding took the first lead of the game with one in the second and added two in the third. The Storm finally got on the board in the top of the fourth when Fluman scored on a Harding error before Blevens singled to right to cut it to 3-2.
 
The Lady Bisons though added another run in bottom half of the inning and shut the door on the Crimson Storm offense.
 
SNU broke out the bats in the nightcap though with 10 hits.
 
Harding got on the board first against with a run in the bottom of the second, but SNU took the lead in the top of the third when Blevens hit a two-run double down the right field line to put the Storm up 2-1. The Storm broke open the game in the bottom of the fifth with five runs. Hannah LeBeau drove home the first run of the inning with a single before Kacey Acker singled up the middle to give SNU the 4-1 lead. Andee Frazier put the cap on the inning when she launched a three-run home run to left, to give SNU a 7-1 lead.
 
SNU took an 8-1 lead when Blevens was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. The Lady Bisons rallied late with six runs in the, but Frazier held tight in the seventh to pick up her third straight win to move to 3-2.
 
Courtney Wiley went 2-for-3 with three runs scored while Kylie Lang went 2-for-4 with a run scored.
 
The win pushes SNU to 6-5 overall and 1-1 in the GAC. The Storm will play 12 p.m. doubleheader Saturday to conclude the series.
