MONTICELLO, Ark. — It's already been an early test for Southern Nazarene and right now SNU has stayed steady with its second straight Great American Conference win on the road in a 72-60 victory over Arkansas-Monticello.
 
The Crimson Storm (3-0, 2-0 GAC) got a combined 37 points from LB Willis and CJ Rodriguez who both had season-high. Willis totaled 19 points and added 10 rebounds for his first double-double of the season while Rodriguez had 18 points and three rebounds. Willis went 5-for-11 from the field and missed just one of his 10 attempts at the free-throw line. He also had three steals and two assists. Rodriguez went 7-for-10 from the field and 4-for-6 from 3-point range. Francisco Hukill also had nine points while Jared Starkey had eight.
 
Southern Nazarene shot 50 percent from the field going 26-for-52 and had 28 of its points in the paint with 15 coming off of turnovers. SNU was also 15-for-20 at the line and drained five 3-pointers. The Storm forced 19 turnovers and held the Boll Weevils (1-2, 0-2 GAC) to just 7-for-26 in the first half.
 
The Storm led by as much as 24 in the first half and were up 39-15 before UAM cut it to 39-19 at the break. SNU led 40-19 just four seconds into the second half before the Weevils went on a 23-8 run to cut it to 48-42 with 12:18 left to play.
 
A Rodriguez trey though ignited a 12-2 run by SNU that gave the Storm a 60-44 lead with 8:37 and the lead never got back to single digits after that.
