BETHANY, Okla. — Freddy DiNang's goal in the second half cut into Upper Iowa's lead, but Southern Nazarene was unable to score again in a 2-1 loss to the Peacocks.

Upper Iowa (6-3-1, 3-2-0 MIAA) got on the board early in the first half when Troy Ewers headed Rhys Williams' corner kick into the net in the 12
th minute to give them a 1-0 lead. The Peacocks scored again when Sebastian Smith took control of a loose ball in front of the net and put it in to stretch the lead to 2-0.

The Crimson Storm (2-8-0, 1-4-0 MIAA) scored in the 58
th minute when DiNang put
Javier Caballeros' cross past the keeper to close the gap to 2-1. Southern Nazarene attempted nine more shots in the rest of the half with two of them being on goal. A Peacock defender saved Javier's shot in the 75th minute before it rolled into the net and
Josh May's shot in the 89
th minute was just within reach of the keeper's hands.
