Scraping Past the Bulldogs

SNU scored a last minute goal to defeat SWOSU 3-2

BETHANY, Okla.— Mallary Pineda scored a goal and dished out an assist on Alyssa Glitzke's game-winning goal in the 88th minute that gave Southern Nazarene the 3-2 victory over Southwestern Oklahoma State.
 
The Crimson Storm (6-7, 4-2 GAC) possessed the ball for most of the first half as they did not allow the Bulldogs (2-9-2, 2-3-1 GAC) to attempt a shot. SNU attempted ten shots in the first half.
 
Southwestern Oklahoma State started the second half strong with a goal in the 52nd minute by Maya Hay off a pass from Olivia Butler. Southern Nazarene tied the game at 1-1 in the 70th minute when Pineda converted on a penalty kick. The Bulldogs regained the lead quickly as Charlotte Eastman scored off a free kick from just outside the box in the 72nd minute.
 
The Crimson Storm tied the game at 2-2 in the 77th minute when Hannah Robinson headed Taylor Jester's free kick over the keeper's head and it ricocheted off the cross bar right into the net. Glitzke's goal off a pass from Pineda sealed the game in the 88th minute for Southern Nazarene. SNU's defense held up the rest of the game, as they did not allow the Bulldogs to attempt another shot.
 
Southern Nazarene attempted 20 shots with six of them on goal. Southwestern Oklahoma State attempted five shots with three of them on goal.
 
SWOSU's Courtney Flores recorded three saves and SNU's Natasha Fuentes had one save.
 
Pineda has achieved new career highs this season with nine goals, four assists, and 22 points. Glitzke is now tied for sixth all-time with four game-winning goals in her career.
