Southern Nazarene falls at Harding

SEARCY, Ark. — Trey Hills and Chris Hunter combined for 297 yards for Southern Nazarene in a 63-21 loss at Harding.
 
The Crimson Storm (0-4, 0-4 GAC) totaled a season-high 320 yards with 103 coming on the ground and 217 coming through the air.
 
Hills, who got his first start of the year, threw for 176 yards and one touchdown as he completed five of his 13 passes. Hunter ran for a career-high 121 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries. Seven different wide receivers had at least one catch.
 
Konner Bent led the defensive side of the ball with a career-high 11 tackles while Michael Hicks had nine and recorded an interception as well. Christo Lisika had five tackles, one of which was a sack for a loss of nine yards. He also had two tackles for a loss of 12 yards.
 
After taking a 35-0 deficit into the locker room at the half, SNU got on the board with its first drive of the second half. Hicks gave SNU good field position at its own 41-yard line he notched his first pick of the season. The Storm used eight plays to go 59 yards. The big play in the drive was a 28-yard completion from Hills to Martin to put the storm at the Harding four-yard line and Hunter punched it in to make it 35-7 with 10 minutes to play in the third.
 
SNU made it 42-14 with 5:15 left in the third when Hunter scored his second straight touchdown from the one on third and goal. It was another big pass play that set up the touchdown when Hills hit Cass White for a 59-yard strike from the SNU 40-yard line.
 
The Storm scored their final touchdown on the night with just 58 seconds left in the third to make it 49-21. Hills hit Ryan Mischler for a 29-yard touchdown to complete a 5-play, 81-yard drive.
 
The Crimson Storm will now hit the road again Saturday as it plays a 4 p.m. Great American Conference game at East Central.
