OC Draws Split with Storm

Southern Nazarene run rules OC in opener, gets shutout in nighcap

Fluman hit her fifth and sixth home runs of the year in the opener.
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 BETHANY, Okla. — Southern Nazarene got a dominating performance in the opening game of a doubleheader with a 10-2 run rule of Oklahoma Christian, but got shutout, 5-0 in the nightcap.
 
Maci-Brooke Lambert (10-12) won her fourth game in five tries as she gave up just two runs on six hits in five innings of work. The sophomore also struck out five. The Crimson Storm (15-26) belted three home runs, including two from Lindy Fluman. Fluman was a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBIs and three runs scored. Kacey Acker was also perfect going 2-for-2 with three runs scored. Madden, who hit the other home run, went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored.
 
SNU scored four in the bottom of the first with Madden and Fluman each hitting two-run bombs. SNU added three more in the third on Fluman's second home run of the game to put SNU up 7-0. OC added two in the top of the fifth, but the Storm put it away with three in the bottom of the fifth.
 
The Lady Eagles (18-17) were dominate in the second game, allowing just two hits from SNU. Jeneva Nelson (4-10) went toe-to-toe with OC's Lindsy Moore as Nelson had given up just one run on five hits through six innings. Oklahoma Christian though had four hits and four run in the top of the seventh to put it away.
 
Kylie Lang had both hits for SNU as she went 2-for-3.
 
Southern Nazarene now gets set to host Arkansas Tech for a three-game Great American Conference series, Friday and Saturday.
