Box Score 2 MAGNOLIA, Ark. — A new leader stands stop the home run platform in Southern Nazarene history as
Amy Madden set the school's all-time record for home runs.
The senior hit her 46 career home run to break Katie Hale's (2008-11) mark of 45. It was also Madden's 10
th home run of the year which ranks her third in the Great American Conference.
Madden ignited the Crimson Storm (13-25, 6-18 GAC) early in the opener as SNU took a 3-0 lead in the top of the fourth. She hit a leadoff home run to break the scoreless tie before
Kacey Acker drove in two more to put SNU out front.
The Lady Muleriders answered with one in the bottom half of the inning and cut it to one in the fifth at 3-2. SAU then blew the doors open with a seven-run sixth to lead 9-3 and cruised from there.
Madden and
Megan Blevens had the only two hits in the opener for SNU while
Jeneva Nelson (4-9) took the loss after giving up eight runs on six hits in three innings of work.
It was nearly the opposite for SNU in the nightcap as it posted 10 hits and had a its big inning in the top of the fourth.
Jill Clemence led off the inning with a double and was then driven in by
Amy Madden's single to center.

Lindy Fluman made it a 3-0 game with a double. Acker's two-run single to left capped the inning and gave SNU a 5-0 lead. The Storm extended it to 7-0 in the sixth with a double steal to score the first and Acker ripped a double to center to score the other. Madden put the finishing touches with a single up the middle to put SNU on top 8-0 before Southern Arkansas scored two in the bottom half of the seventh.
Madden and Acker each went 2-for-3 as Madden scored one run and drove in two while Acker drove in three runs. Lang also 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
Maci-Brooke Lambert (8-11) won her second straight game as the sophomore went the distance, giving up just two runs on seven hits.
The two teams will close out the four-game series with an 11 a.m. doubleheader Saturday.
