Box Score 2 CANYON, Texas — No. 2 West Texas A&M swept a doubleheader away from Southern Nazarene winning the first game 15-0 and the second 11-3.
The Lady Buffs (34-7) scored 12 runs in the first two innings in the opener and held the Crimson Storm (16-32) to just five hits. All five hits came from different players.
Becca Webb (1-6) took the loss after giving up 10 runs, eight earned, on seven hits.
Southern Nazarene opened the game by scoring two runs in the first including on a single to right by
Lindy Fluman as SNU took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first. West Texas A&M answered with one in the bottom half of the inning, but the Storm responded with a
Kylie Lang single to center that gave SNU a 3-1 lead. The Lady Buffs though scored five in the bottom second to lead 6-3 and put it away with five in the bottom of the fourth.
Lang and
Courtney Wiley led the way as Lang went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored while Wiley went 2-for-2.
Maci-Brooke Lambert took the loss after giving up 11 runs on 12 this in four innings of work.
Southern Nazarene will now get prepared for its final Great American Conference series of the year when it hosts Henderson State Friday and Saturday.
