EDMOND, Okla. — Six players scored in double figures and Southern Nazarene was just one 3-pointer shy of tying a school record in a 100-75 rout of Oklahoma Christian.
The Crimson Storm (3-4) hit 16 3-pointers on the day as five different players had at least two treys.
Quan Conner led the way with 24 points and five assists. The senior hit five 3-pointers and went 9-for-16 from the field.
CJ Smith added 17 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
Francisco Hukill matched his career-high from Friday night with 14 as he hit a career-high four triples off of the bench.
Antwone Jackson added 12 points and five rebounds while
Garrett Butler had 11 points off of the bench.
LB Willis also had 10 points and five rebounds along with four steals.
Anton Kankaanpaa nearly made it all five starters in double figures as he had eight points.
The Crimson Storm hit over 50 percent again from the field shooting 56.5 percent and 53.3 percent from 3-point range. SNU also went 14-for-16 from the free-throw line.Â
The Eagles (3-3) had just one lead early in the game at 11-9, but a 10-0 run capped by a Willis dunk gave SNU a 19-11 lead. SNU stretched it to 40-29 late in the first half, before OC cut it to 43-38 at intermission.
Oklahoma Christian cut it to 58-53 at the 14:32 mark in the second half, but Hukill got bookend baskets in a 10-4 run to give the Storm a 68-57 lead, but OC got within seven at 71-64 with 10:13 to play. The Storm though answered with a 15-4 run to lead 86-68 with 4:46 to play and put OC away.
The Crimson Storm now get set to jump back into Great American Conference play with a trip to Southwestern Oklahoma State, Thursday, for a 7:30 p.m. tip
