WEATHERFORD, Okla. — Taylor Chasteen ran for a team-high 35 yards and threw for a team-high 31 yards as Southern Nazarene fall 19-12 to Southwestern Oklahoma State Saturday night.
The Crimson Storm (1-8) ran for 116 yards as five different rushers carried the ball. Chasteen had 35 yards on 16 carries while
Derick Perkins had 33 yards on 14 carries.
Chris Hunter also had 30 yards on eight carries. Chasteen also went 4-for-21 passing.
Southern Nazarene got on the board first on its first drive of the game after
Trevon Hartfield picked off a pass and took it down to the SWOSU 37-yard line.

Jarod Martin for a 10-yard stroke to cap a six-play, 37-yard drive as the Storm took a 6-0 lead.
Southwestern though answered on the ensuing kickoff as Teverick Boyd ran the kickoff 90 yards to tie the game at 6-6. The Bulldogs added a field goal and another touchdown in the first quarter before taking a 16-6 lead at the half. Southwestern then got a 40-yard field goal from Colton Rainey to take a 19-6 lead in the third before SNU cut the deficit to 19-12 with 11:34 left in the fourth when Blake Cavill recovered a fumble and ran it back 45 yards for the touchdown.
Southern Nazarene though had two straight four-and-outs before a five play drive in its final three drives of the game.
The Crimson Storm hit the road for the last time this season, Saturday, when they travel to Northwestern Oklahoma State for a 5 p.m. game.
