Storm Take Two at CBC Invite

SNU won its sixth straight game with a pair of wins at the CBC Invite

CONWAY, Ark. —
Southern Nazarene scored a pair of shutouts Friday afternoon with a 3-0 win over Baker (Kan.) and a 6-0 victory over Lyon (Ark.).

Jordan Simmons (6-1) was strong again in the win over Baker, tossing a three-hitter and her third shutout of the year. Katie Hale was a home run short of the cycle as she went 3-for-3 with a single, double and a triple and also drove in a run. Daphne Stewart and Aubrey Jones both went 2-for-3 and Stewart drove in a run.

In the nightcap, Kaci Crawford (6-3) allowed just for hits and fanned nine batters in six innings of work before handing it over to Tiffany Gosset who retired the side in order to secure the win. Stewart again went 2-for-3 with an RBI while Katie Turner did the same. Amy Madden also went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, a double and also hit her sixth home run of the year. Allison Fields also had a 2-for-3 day at the plate.

The pair of wins moves SNU to 13-5 on the year and increases the winning streak to six.

The Crimson Storm close out their trip at the Central Baptist College Invitational with a doubleheader, taking on Southwestern (Kan.) at noon before playing LSU-Alexandria at 2 p.m.
