BETHANY, Okla. —
Taking a gamble on whether Southern Nazarene will win or not lately has been anything but a gamble. In the month of March of it's been a sure thing. SNU hasn't lost a game since Feb. 25 and the winning streak moved out of the teens and into the 20s with a 4-0, 6-1 sweep of Northwestern Oklahoma State.

The 18th-ranked Crimson Storm (28-5, 6-2 SAC) have now won 21 straight games.

Jordan Simmons (13-1) recorded her sixth shutout and her 12th complete game of the year after she allowed just three hits, struck out four and walked just one is seven innings of work in the opener.

Southern Nazarene took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Amy Madden dove into first base to pick up a two-out single and that allowed Katie Turner to score from third. SNU extended its lead to 2-0 when Kristina Forest drove in Allison Fields from third with a ground ball to third. Katie Hale drove in the second run of the inning with a sacrifice squeeze to score Forest. SNU took a 4-0 lead on an Aubrey Jones single to right that scored Daphne Stewart and cruised from there.

Madden was perfect at the plate going 3-for-3 with an RBI. Fields went 2-for-3 with a run scored while Stewart went 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Madden also opened the second game of the doubleheader with her ninth home run of the year as she put SNU up 1-0 with a solo shot to left in the bottom of the second. SNU went up 2-0 in the third on a Hale fielder's choice that scored Stewart. Kara Crawford gave the Storm a 3-0 lead when she hit her first home run of the season with a solo shot to left center to lead off the bottom of the fourth. Turner then tripled to right center to score Stewart, who singled through the left side, as SNU took a 4-0 lead. Hale made it 5-0 when she hit a sac fly to left to score Stewart for the final run of the inning.

Kacey Acker added another insurance run in the fifth when she singled up the middle to score Forest as SNU climbed out to a 6-0 advantage.

The Lady Rangers finally got on the board in the top of the seventh, but that was the only run scored the entire day for Northwestern.

Kaci Crawford (13-3) struck out 11 of the 28 batters she faced as she allowed just one run on four hits in 6.2 innings of work. Tiffany Gossett faced just one batter and recorded the out to close out the win for SNU.

Southern Nazarene will now host Hillsdale Baptist, Monday, for a 2 p.m. doubleheader.
