SNU has now won 13 straight games

BETHANY, Okla. — There might not be a hotter team in the country than Southern Nazarene after the Crimson Storm swept through the Gulf Coast Invitational and moved their winning streak to 13 straight. SNU downed Bethel (Tenn.), 3-2 and Thomas (Fla.), 4-2, before handing No. 9 Trevecca Nazarene its first loss of the year with an 8-3 victory.

Jordan Simmons (8-1) held Bethel to just two runs in 5.1 inning of work as she allowed just four hits. Tiffany Gossett picked up the save; her first of the year. Aubrey Jones was a perfect 2-for-2 with a pair of RBIs while Kristina Forest went 2-for-3.

In the second game, Daphne Stewart went 2-for-4 with an RBI while Amy Madden went 1-for-3 with an RBI as well. Katie Hale also ripped a double, having an 1-for-3 game at the plate. Kaci Crawford got a complete game as she gave up just two runs on four hits and struck out four.

It was Crawford again in the final game who shut down the Trojan offense. The junior went 6.1 inning and scattered nine hits and gave up just three runs while fanning six. Gossett tossed the final 1.2 innings and gave up just two hits. Stewart, Jones and Forest all went 2-for-3 while Forest drove in three runs.

The Storm now get set for a five-game home stand that starts Friday with a 2 p.m. doubleheader with Texas Wesleyan.
