Box Score CHICKASHA, Okla. — Ryan Aaron scored 21 points and had eight rebounds off the bench for No. 13 Southern Nazarene in a 85-75 loss to Science & Arts, Saturday evening.
The Crimson Storm (6-2, 2-1 SAC) never had a lead, but were never out of it until the final few seconds. Southern Nazarene trailed by as much as 17 early in the second half and trailed 66-51 with 8:41 left. Then came a final surge by the Storm in a 14-7 as SNU closed the gap to 71-65 with 2:35 left. Aaron had eight points in the run as the Storm cut their deficit to its lowest margin since the 15:32 mark in the first half.
The Drovers (6-3, 2-1 SAC) though answered with a three and a pair of free throws to push lead to double digits and kept SNU at arm's length from there.
USAO shot 57.4 percent from the floor and scored 54 of their points in paint while SNU had 16. The Storm scored 23 points off of 16 USAO turnovers and outscored the USAO bench by 10 (24-14). SNU shot 40 percent (24-60) form the field and drained seven 3-pointers.
Tyrone Lyons scored 14 points and added six rebounds while
Adrian Hunter notched 12 points and four assists.
Daniel White, who missed the game with OCU, chipped in with nine points, five rebounds and two assists.
Southern Nazarene will now get set to play Bethany (Kan.), Friday, at 6 p.m. at the SCU Invitational at Southwestern Christian.
