Box Score

LUBBOCK, Texas —
Southern Nazarene needed just one goal and a little bit of grace after going down to 10 players in the second half in a 1-0 win over Lubbock Christian.

Kayla Thompson scored her seventh goal of the season in the 58th minute to move the Crimson Storm to 13-2 overall and 8-0 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. SNU has now won nine straight.

Thompson scored the goal off a throw in from Jackie Acevedo who tied the school's single-season mark for points scored. That assist pushed her to 85 points with 36 goals and 13 assists. She needs just one more point to pass Becky Atkinson's 1996 mark of 85 points (40 goals, 5 assists).

SNU went down to 10 players when the Storm's keeper, Rachael Wade, picked up a red card on a hard foul in the 62nd minute. It was the last card in a string of four in a just under a five-minute stretch. Taylor James came in to the play the final 28:02, but neither keeper had to make a save as LCU put just one shot of their five total on goal. SNU on the other hand continued trend by putting eight shot on frame of the 20 it took.

The Crimson Storm now get set to make their final trip of the year when they travel to Science & Arts, Tuesday, for 1 p.m. SAC contest.
