SNU won its fifth straight SAC game with a win over Northwestern

ALVA, Okla. — It doesn't matter how it's happened or who it has come against, but Southern Nazarene keeps racking up the wins in Sooner Athletic Conference play and picked up another one with a 56-47 win at Northwestern Oklahoma State.
 
The Crimson Storm (11-2, 5-0 SAC) got a second half surge and a game-high 16 points off the bench from Oumoul Thiam who went 5-for-10 from the field and 2-for-4 from 3-point range. Logan Martin added 14 points while Jamie Bottger had 10. Sharmeda Johnson and Abbey Marra each scored seven points as Johnson notched her third double-double of the season with 10 rebounds while Marra had eight.
 
SNU struggled from the field going 17-for-57 (.298) and were just 7-for-21 from beyond the arc. The Storm though forced 18 turnovers and held the Lady Rangers (7-4, 3-3 SAC) to just 28.8 percent shooting from the floor and allowed just two 3-pointers.
 
After both teams were tied at 26 through the first 20 minutes of play the Crimson Storm held Northwestern to just 21 points in the second half and put up 30 to pick up their third road win in conference play.
 
SNU will now travel to Lubbock Christian, Thursday, for a 6 p.m. game.
