Philip Younts was named the Assistant Athletic Director of Operations at Southern Nazarene University, effective August 1, 2023. He is responsible for all SNU gameday operations.
Younts spent two years as the Director of Athletics Communications with the Crimson Storm. He served as the primary contact for football, men's basketball, volleyball, softball, and equestrian. He covered multiple GAC championships, as well as the 2022-23 Men's Basketball teams' historic NCAA run.
Prior to his appointment with the Crimson Storm, Younts served two years as the Sports Information Director at Southwestern Christian University in Bethany. He juggled the coverage of all 12 of SCU's sports including website maintenance, social media content, statistics, live streaming, publishing articles online, and graphic/video production.
In 2018-19, he aided the athletics communications office while pursuing his masters degree in Sports Management. During his time helping the SNU athletics communications office, Younts provided excellent play-by-play and color commentary on broadcasts for Crimson Storm football, volleyball, basketball, and baseball/softball. He also honed his writing ability with publishing postgame articles for SNU baseball and softball, as well.
Younts is a 2016 graduate from Oklahoma City University where he obtained his bachelor's degree in youth ministry. He served as the Director of Student Ministries at New Hope United Methodist Church from 2018-19 before pursuing his masters degree. He graduated from Southern Nazarene University with his masters in Sports Management in 2019 before landing his first full-time position in athletics with SCU.
Philip is married to his wife, Maren. They enjoy traveling, watching baseball, and hanging out with their dog, Wrigley.
