Martha Brennan

Brennan joined Southern Nazarene in 2022 after 12 seasons as the Director of Track and Cross Country at the University of Central Oklahoma, where she coached a number of All-Americans, and one National Champion.

Prior to her time at the University of Central Oklahoma, Brennan served as the Head Men's and Women's Track & Field and Cross Country Coach at the University of Wisconsin - River Falls for five years. She coached dozens of DIII All-Americans and capped her time off by leading the team to an NCAA Division III National Championship in 2008.

Brennan has also had stops as an assistant coach at Texas A&M University, the University of Iowa, and at LSU, where she was a Graduate Assistant. She helped guide Texas A&M to a Men's Track & Field Big 12 Championship in 2001.

She began her collegiate career at the University of South Dakota and was a five-time Division II All-American before finishing her career at Louisiana State where she helped the Tigers capture back-to-back Division I National Championships in 1994 and 1995.

Brennan was a Heptathlon athlete and competed at the Olympic Trials in 1996. She was also a member of the 1997 USA National Track & Field team.

Martha earned her undergraduate degree in mathematics from LSU in 1995, her master's degree in educational administration from LSU in 1996 and her PhD in education administration from Texas A&M in 2006.

She has been highly involved in campus life and academia during her coaching career. She has also served in roles such as the Chair of the Board for United Way, the Secretary of the Board for the National Track & Field Association, and University Senior Woman Administrator.

Martha is married to her husband, Bob, and they have four children; Grace, Eve, Ivy, and Bella.
