Rhett Bechtel begins his first season serving as a Graduate Assistant for the men's and women's golf programs under head coach Derrick Taylor. Bechtel spent the past four seasons on the men's golf team and racked up a multitude of honors during his time with the Crimson Storm.
In his junior and senior seasons with Southern Nazarene, Bechtel qualified for the NCAA Regionals as an individual. As a senior, he was also named to the PING All-Region Team. Bechtel had an outstanding senior season as he won the Houston Classic where he posted a final round 68 to clinch the title and also earned a fifth place finish at the Broncho Invitational as well as a sixth place finish at the MSSU Fall Invitational. He finished 8th in the region, according to Golfstat, and had a stroke average of 72.52. He also earned a Second Team All-GAC selection as well as an appearance at the NCAA Central/Midwest Regional in Hot Springs.
Bechtel was also a two-time GCAA All-Academic scholar recipient during his time with the Storm and was also named to the GAC All-Academic Team three out of four years with SNU. As a junior, he was named to the All-GAC First Team.
Bechtel resides in Oklahoma City.
