Brian Nix

Brian Nix was named the head golf coach for Southern Nazarene in June of 2026.

Nix comes to Southern Nazarene from the Oklahoma City Storm homeschool team, where he led the golf program for seven seasons.


During Nix’s time with the OKC Storm, the boys golf program amassed 39 team victories over the last six seasons and 87 total program wins. The team has been ranked No. 1 in Oklahoma and among the top 15 nationally for two consecutive years. Nix’s squads were featured multiple times in Golf Oklahoma Magazine and The Oklahoman. His team also set an unofficial state record for the lowest 18-hole score by a high school team at 22 under-par in September 2024, before breaking its own mark with a 23-under-par performance in September 2025.

A native of northwest Oklahoma City, Nix played golf at Oklahoma Christian University from 1996-97 before transferring to the University of Central Oklahoma, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in business and psychology in 1999.

Nix is also a graduate of Putnam City West High School, where he met his wife, Regan. The couple has been married since 1998. Nix has worked in private business in the Oklahoma City area for more than 20 years and has deep roots in the community.

He and his wife reside in Edmond and attend New Song Church. They have four children, Ben, Ava, Boston, and Ruby Ray, as well as a daughter-in-law, Mara, a son-in-law, Daniel, and a grandson, Bear.
