Southern Nazarene University Athletics

Carlos Gomez was named a graduate assistant track and field coach at Southern Nazarene University in 2026.

Gomez will work with the Sprints and Hurdles athletes while pursuing his master’s degree in Applied Psychology at SNU.

Gomez began his collegiate career at William Woods University, where he spent two seasons before transferring to the University of Charleston in West Virginia. He graduated from Charleston with a degree in psychology and a minor in sports business.

As a student-athlete, Gomez had a successful career at both William Woods and Charleston, winning numerous conference championships. He was also a member of three conference championship-winning 4x400 relay teams and competed at the national level in Spain.

Originally from Madrid, Spain, Gomez spent his childhood and adolescence there before moving to the United States at the age of 18 to continue his education and athletic career.
