George Schroeder

George Schroeder begins his tenth year as the Head Coach for the Southern Nazarene University men’s soccer program with a 47-107-7 overall record. Schroeder served for two seasons as SNU's assistant coach for both the men's and women's programs before taking over the reigns of the SNU men’s program in the fall of 2008.

He also acquired his United States Soccer Federation National "B" License in 1999.

In his first season at the helm of the highly successful SNU men’s soccer program, Schroeder guided the Crimson Storm to their sixth consecutive NAIA National Tournament appearance and their ninth overall appearance at nationals. Schroeder led SNU to a 14-5-1 record and the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament Championship. Southern Nazarene was ranked as high as No. 3 under Schroeder and finished the 2008 season ranked 17th in the final NAIA poll. The Crimson Storm advanced to the second round of the national tournament.

In 2012, SNU played in its first year within the MIAA and will compete in the Great American Conference. Last season, Schroeder led the Storm to their first appearance in the Great American Conference Tournament.

Schroeder is a native of Mustang, Okla., where he attended Mustang High School, graduating in 1991. At Mustang, Schroeder was a three-year all-district selection, two-year all-conference selection, and all-state in soccer. Schroeder was also a member of the National Honor Society.

After graduating from Mustang, Schroeder went on to play for Southern Nazarene from 1993-94, and earned his bachelor's in secondary education in 1995.

After leaving SNU, Schroeder played professionally with the Oklahoma City Slickers.

Schroeder began his coaching career in 1993, becoming an assistant coach at his alma Mater, Mustang High School, where he served as an assistant until 1998. In 1999, Schroeder took over the boy’s soccer program and led Mustang to a 70-45 record from 1999-2006.

Schroeder joined the SNU staff in July of 2006.

Schroeder and his wife, Jennifer, reside in Mustang and have two children, Makena and Case.
