Biography
SNU Career Highlights:
Junior Season: Eguren appeared in all 22 of SNU’s games in 2009. She was second on the team in scoring with 15 goals and five assists for 35 points. She was tied for eighth in the conference in points per game (1.59), was eighth in total points and was tied for sixth in goals scored. Eguren scored a career-high four goals against St. Gregory’s . She moved to seventh all-time in school history in points scored with 94 and is tied for fourth in school history with 40 career goals. She also was named a Daktronics NAIA Scholar Athlete.
Sophomore Season: Eguren had a break-out season as a sophomore, earning NAIA All-American third team honors after leading SNU in goals scored with 20. Eguren was also named the Sooner Athletic Conference's Offensive Player of the Year while earning All-SAC first team honors. Her 20 goals ranked her 21st in the nation in goals per game (1.05). Eguren also posted eight game winning goals, which was No. 1 in the nation for the 2008 season. She was also ranked ninth in shots per game (5.53), 32nd in points per game (2.26), and 46th in shots on goal per game (2.47) for the 2008 season. Eguren led SNU in scoring with 43 points, tacking on three assists to go with her 20 goals. Eguren's 43 points is seventh best all-time for a single season in school history, while her 20 goals is tied for fifth best all-time for a single season. Eguren's goals per game average of 1.05 ranks her fourth on SNU's all-time single season performance list. Rachel is now 10th on SNU's all-time career goals scored list with 27.
Freshman Season: Eguren had an outstanding freshman season, scoring the game winning goals in three of SNU’s four biggest wins on the year. Eguren had the winning header in SNU’s first round national tournament victory; scored the game winner in SNU’s snapping of a 19-game losing streak to Oklahoma City, and scored the game winning goal in SNU’s regional tournament championship game victory over Rogers State. For the year, she finished fourth on the team in scoring, registering seven goals with two assists for a total of 16 points.
High School Highlights:
Clear Brook High School (Houston, Texas): Eguren was named Offensive MVP and earned all-district first team honors twice during her career. She was also team captain as a senior.
