BETHANY, Okla. — Southern Nazarene University Men's Bowling is headed to the national stage for the first time in program history, earning a berth to the 2026 Intercollegiate Team Championships and Intercollegiate Singles Championships in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
In just its third season, the Crimson Storm have etched their name into the record books, becoming only the third men's program to qualify for nationals within its first three years or less. The milestone places SNU alongside elite company, including Webber International and SCAD Savannah, two programs widely regarded as national powerhouses.
The journey to nationals was nothing short of remarkable. The Storm began their run at sectionals in Fort Worth, Texas. After 12 games, Southern Nazarene found itself in 19th place out of 19 teams. What followed was an impressive turnaround. Over the course of the 64-game Baker format, the Crimson Storm steadily climbed the standings, battling all the way back to the No. 2 position by Game 60.
Continuing their surge, the Storm finished third overall at sectionals, punching their ticket to the national championships for the first time in program history.
The Crimson Storm will be part of a historic 2026 national field as one of four programs making their national championship debut, joining Belmont Abbey, Spring Arbor, and Marian University Wisconsin.
While the team secured its spot on the national stage, Brandon Handog delivered a clutch performance during ISC sectionals. After an open frame in Game 6, he responded with six consecutive strikes to lock up his place in the ISC Nationals.
With nationals set for April in Green Bay, the Crimson Storm will look to carry their momentum onto the biggest stage of the season. The Storm now set their sights on making a statement at the national championships.
